==Crossroads==

The day finally came. The day where I have to choose a path for where my career is heading. In my case it is not so much of a choice actually.. more like no choice.

All this while I have been the only person doing "creative" work in the Sales dept. of Maxis. Other departments come to me as well but those days are now long gone. There will no longer be a "creative person" in Maxis and all our POSMs, roadshow booths, backdrops and such will be outsourced just like our print ads, TVCs and billboards.

So what is this new responsibility bestowed upon me? On paper it's Merchandising, more specifically Sourcing and Allocation of merchandise. In short I will source for new and innovative premiums that we can use to drive sales, and I will also manage the allocation of our POSMs to dealers (ie: what and how much goes where).

I will be still be doing some creative work, but very very very minimal. Was wondering what's going to happen to my Mac, but I guess it will still be with me :)

This is a good opportunity for me to expand my horizons and learn new skills, which is good as it adds to my portfolio. I just hope this new responsibility of mine at work will not interfere with my plans on picking up the art of mixing (read MR.DJ)which I plan to start in November. Oh, and kickboxing too with the rest of the family.
